Murder/Homicide
When handling any murder or homicide charge, I thoroughly examine any circumstantial evidence, striving to understand the case better than the prosecution. This enables me to find any procedural errors or constitutional rights violations made by the arresting officer or the prosecution. I provide my clients with vigorous defense in cases of homicide, aggravated murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, vehicular homicide and involuntary manslaughter. I defend clients in capital punishment cases and have had success in defending clients accused of murder.
Sex Crimes
Defending clients facing accusations of sex crimes is particularly difficult. These cases are not only tried in the courtroom, but often in the court of public opinion. It often seems like the burden of proof is improperly placed on the defendants and their sex crime defense counsel to prove their innocence. Due to the serious nature of these allegations, it is vitally important that you have an experienced defense attorney. I handle sex crime defense cases involving rape, date rape, sexual misconduct, prostitution, sodomy, unlawful sexual penetration, and pimping. I also provide strong defense in cases of child sexual abuse, statutory rape, molestation, and child pornography.
Assault

Veterans' ISSUES
I have extensive knowledge in the area of veterans' affairs. I provide tailored representation to veterans that are dealing with the wide variety of legal issues that often accompany military service. Such issues may involve PTSD and emotional problems resulting from combat experience, including domestic violence, drug and alcohol violations and violent crimes.
Department of Human Services (DHS)
Many different types of cases may involve the Oregon DHS. I am experienced at handling these issues for individuals and families, especially matters pertaining to dependency and shelter hearings, grandparents' rights, alleged abuse and Shaken Baby Syndrome.
